The 80s here are not restaged — they're re-edited: kept as a way of using material, not as a set of references.
Burl veneer covers the whole bar wall, close to black, broken by three backlit shelves that carry the only warm light in the room. That contrast — dense, dark wood against a cold line of light — is the one 80s gesture the room keeps intact. Everything else around it has been rebuilt in today's logic: the lacquered coffee table is glass-flat rather than glossy-decorative, the leather stools trade their weight for chrome legs thin enough to read as line drawings, the checkerboard rug is graphic, not pattern.
The panther painting is the only element left un-edited — two animals locked mid-motion, oversized, taking up more wall than the room's restraint should allow. It's the one place the decade's excess was let through on purpose.
